I've already honed one block i have, (2 minutes per cylinder each direction, with a drill-hone, and honing oil) If it doesn't work, or if i did the hone wrong, i have a spare block from an automatic VG to use that hasn't been honed. Then, i can always get the block i honed properly bored and built while my car's running. As for heads, i have three sets of heads: - 1. One automatic set currently on an engine with a bad cylinder but only 68k documented miles - 2. another manual set that i bought, with unknown mileage from a member here that i forgot the name of but that's in my email - 3. and my old manual heads that were already rebuilt, but my dad lost the camshaft caps to them. What i'm going to do is rebuild #2, with the seals and stuff that are new, never used, from number #3, put these on the block that i built up, or the block from the automatic VG, and put it in the car that way. heads #1 will be saved and built up with whatever block is left over. Either way, whoever will be doing the work will be getting complete heads, all accessories, and a complete block to put together and install in my car. I appreciate the fact that you'd want to help out. I saw your site and i must say your story is quite impressive. I'm wishing you luck on your build as well! :)
